MR. MIKE : Biography
Mike Walls (born December 10, 1972), better known as Mr. Mike, is an American rapper. Mr. Mike is an established artist, rapper ,writer, producer of multiple recordings & videos. He is best known for his time spent with Suave House Records from the mid to late 90s. Mr. Mike first started with Suave House as one-half of South Circle with Thorough. Mr. Mike was the main known solo music artist of Suave House. He was a member of South Circle Group. He was featured on “Another Day- Another Baller CD”, of which sold hundreds of thousands of albums.
The group released their debut album, Anotha Day Anotha Baller, in the summer of 1995. It became a minor success on the Billboard charts, but the duo disbanded shorty after its release. After South Circle, Mr. Mike embarked on a solo career. His debut album, Wicked Wayz, debuted in top 40 on the U.S. charts, peaking at 29 on the Billboard 200 in the summer of 1996 and #5 on the US R&b Charts. The Album, “Wicked Wayz”, has sold numorous of units. Despite the album's success, Mr. Mike left Suave House and joined Priority Records, where he released his second album, 1999's Rhapsody.
The album failed to match the success of Wicked Wayz, only making it to #172 on the Billboard 200 and #36 on the Billboard Top R&b /HipHop Charts. His song Green Eyes(Hilda Lamas Ft Mr. Mike was featured on Hilda Lamas' Album "Latina Soul" - Hilda Lamas, released by Hacienda Records on February 10, 2009.
Mr. Mike has released numorous of singles of which includes: 1999 release of Texas 2000 whick was Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks on the Billboard Singles Chart and Hot Rap Singles. Also his single Where Ya Love was released in 1996 which made it on the Billboard Singles Chart for Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks. Mr. Mike was later dropped from Priority. In 2003 Mr. Mike released an independent album entitled Piping Hot, but he has not been heard from since. His Wicked Wayz Album has sold over numerous amounts of units.
After Releasing Anotha Day Another Balla in 1995 as Leader of the duo South Circle some knew this guy was destined for greatness!
From freestlyling on B.E.T’s Rap City to Catching Felony Cases & Surviving To Becoming One of the Music Industries Best! Mr. Mike has always seemed to keep his storm from destroying him. Altho when asked about it he says, (“I’m Built For It!) From Vibe Magazine articles to graduating trade school & hustling on the streets for food , Mr. Mike has seen & lived as a Reflection of his Art. With Rich Wordplay & a Flow So Cold Some people say he’s from the South Poll!! After His Departure from former Suavehouse Records , Mr. Mike signed with Priority Records unaware of the straints on the company at the time. Opting out of his contract right after his 1999 Rhapsody release Mr. Mike found himself right Back to the Basics: Working Hard , Rededicated to making music & being more Business minded. From collaborations with the likes of Ice Cube , 8Ball & MIG to Mac 10 , Trae Tha Truth , Raas Kaas & more. Mr. Mike is The Reality , The Perfect Picture From Rags To Riches & Displaying Creativity along the way! Also recognized as a Street Minister it is Just Something About This Guy You Know THAT MUST BE GOD! Mr. Mike had did the NWA anniversary cd remake of Ice Cube “I Aint The One”. His song was featured on the “Partner And Crime Soundtrack” in a 1999 movie by Fat Joe and Mac 10 called, “Thicker Than Water”, which was released by Priority Records. To this date Mr. Mike remains one of the hottest underground rap music artist in the southern region just recently collaborating with Trae Da Truth who is signed with TI Record Label ,” Grand Hustle”..and presently has a strong buzz underground through the south region.
